The Fire District will be building a new main fire station on the site of the current Station 1, located at 230 Pennsylvania Ave., Apalachin. The voters of the district approved a bond resolution in November, 2015 authorizing the funding for the project, and the district has engaged HUNT Engineers to design the building and provide engineering services for bid evaluation and oversight of the construction. Presently the construction encompasses approximately 10,000 square feet of a pre-engineered building, including a seven bay truck garage section and an administrative wing with a community room.
The general trades contract has been awarded to Middendorf Contracting, Inc. of Wysox, PA.
The HVAC contract has been awarded to Kimble, Inc. of Elmira, NY.
The plumbing contract has been awarded to Petcosky & Sons Plumbing & Heating, Inc. of Vestal, NY.
The electrical contract has been awarded to Spectrum Electrical Services, Inc. of Montrose, PA.
Current timeline is as follows:
March, 2017 – Demolition of current structure
Spring, 2017 – Construction of New Station
October 1, 2017 – Construction Complete
